Provides QC glucose meter POC reports on staff for HDMC and CSH. ~ Monitors QC and patient glucose meter POC results for HDMC and CSH. ~ Maintains inventory for the laboratory and glucose meters. ~ Performs analysis of patient samples, quality control materials and Inter-laboratory Comparative Surveys using sophisticated instruments and manual techniques. Trouble shoots trends/ problems for the chemistry department and retains documentation of these issues. ~ Reports QR values to Bio-Rad for peer comparison. Maintains QC records for Joint Commission and other accrediting agencies. ~ Performs daily start-up procedures, maintenance, calibration, quality control testing, linearities, verifications and patient testing in the Chemistry section of the lab. The Laboratory Technologist performs work involving a variety of clinical and medical laboratory services, tests, procedures, and phlebotomy necessary for the processing of laboratory tests for patients/residents of the hospital and residing on the grounds of the Southside/Petersburg DBHDS Campus.
